Engaged

So i'm obviously not very good at this blogging stuff. :) And a LOT has happened since my last post. Most excitingly Kyle and I got engaged! We were on vacation to his home of Ohio. The night we got to ohio we went up to Pelee island which is in canadian waters in lake erie. It was beautiful. Kyle proposed to me there on saturday night August 7th. We were on the beach having a camp fire and he asked to talk to me for a second and I thought I was in trouble. haha We started walking and he bent down and asked me to hold something and when I realized what it was I froze immediately. Out of excitement of course. It was the ring box, which had an LED light in it so when i opened it the ring was lit up. I couldn't stop smiling it will forever be one of the happiest memories I will ever hold. Everything was perfect. We were even on the beach, which is one of my FAVORITE places! Every one at the camp fire knew what was going on so when we walked away they all were watching except for Kyle's mom who was trying to cook hotdogs for Kyle's dad Neil who also had NO idea. It was pretty funny when we turned around to come back and every one was congratulating and taking pictures and Kyle's mom still had no idea. She was so cute! Kyle was calling her and told her to come re meet her future daughter in law and just said " Is that what was going on??" We all started laughing. She came and gave me a huge hug and that's when the tears came, it was such a welcoming loving hug, I was so excited. We then went out that night and had a few celebratory drinks at the 2 bars on the island. It was so great that Kyle's parents could be there and his friends were there also to support him and celebrate us. It was basically a great trip. :)

Amazing day

So I follow some random blogs but mostly just my sister and carley; my brother in law's sister...And I decided today I wanted to join the blog world. Doubtful that many people will read this, that wasn't really my motivation. I just felt writing out my thoughts and days will be good for me. So here it goes...

Obviously Today was Easter and such a great easter! :) Although I missed my FAMILY a lot today since i didn't get to see any of them it was a great day with Kyle and friends. I started it by going to East Valley Bible Church for Easter service. They had an AWESOME turn out. The service was held on the lawn at the church and it was great and I even brought home a sun burn ;) I've been going to mission church the last two sundays i think its been which i've LOVED!! But i've also been going to EVBC which i've loved also. Kyle and I have been trying to go whenever it works with my schedule for work (i work every other sunday). We started going to EVBC because Kyle's boss Stacey invited us to attend and we love the teaching style there. Then we tried Mission church with my sister and brother in law and really like it also. They're both just so different but so great. Anyways, to go back to easter the real importance of today was focused on the fact that God has sent his perfect son to bear our sins and wash us clean so that we may live forever with Him in heaven free from our sins. Never fails to amaze me!! :) The easter service today really did a great job of reminding us of what exactly this means for us as christians who are already followers new and old and those of us that are just searching. It was great to look around and see the people moved by Him today!

I've also been reading the book CRAZY LOVE by Francis Chan and I absolutely love it I will probably post on this book at another time soon. But this book really has opened my eyes to the christian I want to be. Not the lukewarm christian I have been!! But this book brought a whole new perspective to Easter for me as it also talks about what Jesus death really means for us as beleivers.

Well after church we came back to Kyle's house after a crazy madhouse trip to the grocery store and had a cook out with some friends. It was so relaxing. We had our legs in the water when what we later found was an earthquake and the pool just suddenly turned into a wave pool. It was crazy. I've never experienced any natural disaster and just this minor lil' aftershock or what ever you may call it really made me think about just how BIG my God is. That he can shake the earth. CRAZY. I hear it all the time, i read it, i see it on TV but I'm human and for some reason fail to see God's amazing power in those things. It's just so hard to fathom. That's something that is also in the crazy love book. Which i'm sure i'll ramble about later.

I've rambled a lot already for my first blog, I think I'll need to learn to control my thoughts better. ha But hey that's why I started this blog, so we'll see how it goes and if you were brave, patient or bored enought to actually read this, Thanks :)

Happy Easter!
